My client is looking to employ an individual with a strong working knowledge of Cyber Security to provide cyber security administration support across multiple sites of an enterprise environment.

This is a home based 12 week contract role (within IR35) – although occasional travel to Essex will be required, so this must be possible for the successful candidate – and calls for the skills to monitor the cyber security toolsets and assist engineers in vulnerability management.

An essential skill is to have O365 email investigation experience. Full training will be given in relation to the role for candidates with the required cyber security knowledge and a willingness to learn. This could even be an entry level role for a graduate with computer science degree, containing cyber skills.

Role Summary

  • Undertake confidential and sensitive investigations.

  • Third line preventative maintenance service to internal and external customers

  • A professional interface to ensure high quality services and resolution of cyber security incidents

  • Monitor the Cyber Security Toolsets and related components t achieve and maintain a high level of compliance and respond to alerts generated by partners.

  • Assist the Cyber Security Engineers in vulnerability management

  • Undertaking regular and frequent vulnerability scans

  • Support the Cyber Security Operations Manager in increasing awareness of cyber-security good practice guidelines

  • Assist the team in keeping required compliance with legislation and frameworks e.g. DSPT, Cyber Essentials etc

  • Update all incidents assigned by the IT Service Desk in order to provide good data for Incident and Problem Management

  • Ensure the entire estate is patched to minimise the risk to known vulnerabilities and all Anti-Virus software is up to date

  • Investigate and remediate security alerts relating to malware, compromised accounts or malicious activity

  • Adhere to agreed SLA (Service Level Agreements) and escalation parameters.

This really is a superb opportunity and although a short term contract, could potentially open the door to further roles within my client.
