Calling solid, all round Windows 10 Engineers / Desktop Support technicians!

My client is looking for a new team member to join its small team in CV7, supporting 100 users on site.  The work is onsite Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with an option for flexible working.  There is plenty of free parking available too. 

The successful candidate will be a skilled and experienced desktop support professional who likes to offer face to face support with hardware and software issues: installations, upgrades, integrations and troubleshooting.

You will use your knowledge and expertise to analyse desktop PC issues, identify causes, and using your technical support skills to restore function as quickly as possible, and then to follow a longer term plan to fully resolve the issue and to prevent further failure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to user support requests

  • Contacting clients to find out the nature of the problem.

  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues

  • deployment of new and existing software

  • Installing and maintaining hardware and peripherals

  • Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software

  • Troubleshooting networking and connection issues

  • Communicate IT matters to ‘non-techies’

Key skills:

  • Proven work experience as Desktop Support Analyst or Support Technician

  • Fully conversant and proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10)

  • Microsoft Office 20xx and MS Outlook (Exchange) Client.

  • Support of Outlook and Teams

  • Specialised knowledge and support experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage: Mac OS 10.x, SCCM, and Desktop Applications e.g. Adobe Acrobat Professional. Active Directory User management, VB scripting, PC, printers and peripheral hardware, TCP/IP, DHCP and mobile devices (smartphones, tablets etc.)

  • Experience of hardware building and PC imaging

  • Experience of working effectively in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience supporting MES or ERP applications useful.
