My client is looking for an IT Field Engineer for the South Essex area (Thurrock to Southend) to deliver, install and set up IT equipment, including peripherals.
Although the ‘Freedom of the Open Road’ may not quite apply – this is more A127 than Route 66! - this is a role in which an experienced IT Support Engineer can enjoy variety and work with a wide group of diverse users, delivering support directly to the end user and enjoying the immediate reward.
The successful candidate will be working across a variety of sites and will be both setting up new devices and troubleshooting any issues that may have arisen with on premise hardware and software.
To carry out this role, you will be the sort of person who loves to help and has high levels of empathy and a caring attitude – and of course enjoys driving and the freedom to listen to your favourite music unchallenged and as loud as you like!You must have your own vehicle.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Attend user sites to deliver and set up IT Assets
Troubleshoot and resolve existing IT issues
To monitor and track all incidents, assigning the correct priority to incidents and escalation to the relevant area as priorities change
Analysing service requests and incidents to introduce fixes and improved services for the end-user
Customer-facing; empathise with users, good interpersonal skills, display active listening skills, polite telephone manner, courteous
Logistical; articulate and methodical, analytical, numerate and literate, work well under pressure, good time management, good team worker, ability to multi-task
Have a good understanding of ITIL processes
To contribute to tech projects as and when appropriate
Use of IT Ticketing software.

Requirements
Min 1-2 years’ experience providing IT support
Experience in administering and supporting the latest Microsoft technologies
Strong troubleshooting skills with Microsoft Office issues (2003 and onwards)
The ability to build, configure, administer and support all versions of Windows desktops and laptops or other devices
Solid experience in setting up computer peripherals
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS with an active interest in other networking services
Knowledge of how to build, configure, administer and support all versions of Windows desktops and laptops
ITIL principles and procedures
System Integration skills
Experience of Remote Desktop Services
